Privacy and Confidentiality Part 2

For any institution, privacy and confidentiality of customer information is critical. You should always handle customers’ information according to the guidelines and best practices established to ensure data is not compromised or stolen!

  • Documents with confidential information should be disposed of by dumping them in secure containers or shredding them.
  • Never give out confidential information to anyone over the phone unless you can correctly identify that the person is in fact authorized!
  • Don’t write down your passwords or other confidential information on post-it notes. By keeping this confidential information secure it will prevent others from potentially stealing your password and accessing confidential information under your account!
  • Avoid conversations regarding confidential information outside the work place. Other people could eavesdrop and listen to it!
